CONDUCT OF JNVST

 

 

A maximum of eighty students are admitted in Class-VI each Vidyalaya subject to availability of eligible candidates and infrastructural facilities, to house the candidates.  In the absence of adequate physical facilities. The number of admissions is restricted to forty in few schools. In case of non-availability of accommodation even to house forty children in a Vidyalaya, the JNVST is not conducted in the district concerned.

CONDUCT OF JNVST FOR CLASS – IX

 

 

In order to optimally utilizes the infrastructure and staff facilities available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, it has been decided to fill up the vacant seats in Class – IX through an All India level Selection Test.  During the year 2008-09 JNVST for Class – IX was conducted on 8th June 2008 for feeling up 11 vacancies. 

 

1) ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

 

To appear in the Selection Test, a candidate has to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

Only those candidates who have studied in Class-VIII in one of the Govt./Govt. Recognized schools of the district where the JNV is functioning can seek admission in Class-IX.

A candidate seeking admission must be between the age group 13-16 years on 1st May of the year of admission for admission for which the Selection Test is conducted. This applies to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.Medium of Language for Examination is English/Hindi.

 
 

 

COMPOSITION OF TEST FOR CLASS-IX

 

Admission Test has consists of questions of Class-VIII standard in the following subjects as per the weight age. The test is conducted in objective/descriptive type with 3 hours duration without any break:

 Centre for the examination will be Jawahar NavodayaVidyalaya of the concerned district.

 

 

RESERVATIONS

 

The existing vacant seats in the SC/ST category as notified are reserved for the SC/ST students.
